"I have read all her books. I think I'm done. I got through 26% and I had to stop. I have done that maybe 4 times. I'm 60 and read about 3 books a week. Her characters have become p!astic carbon copies. Just put down exceptional and gifted beyond belief, add the characters name ( any character they have become interchangeable) and your good to go. I find I'm tired of reading her and she is obviously tired of writing."

Dark Tribute Eve Duncan Iris Johansen Roy Johansen Elisabeth Rodgers Books Reviews
- I was waiting for this book to be released with such anticipation, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Cara and Jock are two of my all time favorite characters. They have been drawn to each other from the moment that they met. Both had horrific things happen to them in their childhood that have given them a bond that no one else truly understands. Jock was solely her protector when Cara was younger, but the years have only proven to strengthen their bond and increase their feelings for each other. Jock is afraid to act on his feelings because he feels like she deserves better than him, and a relationship with him will just put her in danger. Well, it turns out that the night he rebuffs her advances and sends her back to her hotel room alone, is the night she gets kidnapped by an insane lunatic. Now Jock has to find out who took her, and why? Along the way he has to get help from Cara's grandfather, who is a powerful Russian who is definitely not on the right side of the law. He also gets help from Joe Quinn. There are some pretty intense scenes with Cara and her kidnapper, where you are just feeling so bad for her. You also really feel fro Jock because it is eating him up inside not being able to get to her. Of course, you also get Eve Duncan and her son Michael thrown in the mix to try and help save Joe as well. There are so many twists and turns in this story and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommend!
- Johansen has done it again with this intricate story of hate, love and revenge. The characters are sharply drawn as is the plot which will give every day people night terrors for years to come. Meeting returning characters especially the now 10 year old Michael who will steal your heart is always welcomed. Kudos to the master of Suspense.

- Wasn't one of her better written books. Plot wasn't very good. Characters where stale.
- This was an amazing book. It kept me so interested I could not put it down. So many different ways with all the different characters to hold my breath until it was over. I love Iris and look forward to each book she writes.
- I could not put this down. The Eve Duncan series is always evolving new fascinating characters and this one is no exception. Loved every minute of it. Can not wait for the next one.
- Many times when writing series the characters become boringly predictable but Joe and Eve, Jock and Cara even Michael they get better with time. I love that they still live and grow in the author's heart and when she writes we get to take them out for a spin for awhile. This spin does not disappoint with its twists and turns, its strong female characters and it's very human side as we puzzle through the well captured waves of emotions. Thank you Iris Johansen for another well conceived and written diversion from the daily grind, and a trip back to the lake cottage in Atlanta and beyond
- I was a bit bored by this book. I kept skipping pages because it just seemed to go and on. LeAving a bad review book on a book is something i rarely do, but I was disappointed with this story.
